Gorilla - Trekking in the African Rainforest

You will find Mgahinga Safari Lodge in a picturesque mountain area located on a peninsular in LAKE MUTANDA and situated in the three-county-corner UGANDA/ RWANDA/ CONGO.
 

All the tents are twin bedded with the usual amenities and superb ensuite toilet facilities. The canvas walls, elevated platforms and thatched roofs blend well with the environment. With 6 tented chalets and a main lodge building Mgahinga Safari Lodge offers peace, quiet and comfort in beautiful surroundings with panoramic views of Lake Mutanda and the nearby Virunga Mountains.
 

Each offers a unique view of the lake.From the verandah of the main lodge building, watch the sun set over the Virunga mountains while relating tales of your experienc with the gorillas. Snow capped peaks and mist covered valleys offer fantastic photo opportunities

The main building houses the diningroom, bar, lounge, where the skilled staff will look after your needs.

A boat/launch is available for a cruise on Lake Mutanda.

Stay longer and enjoy the hikes/walks to the caves and volcanic craters, look for the rare golden monkey, or visit the unique alpine-mountain swamps in the parks. This area has so much to offer that one visit may not be enough. 
 

Watch out for the local fishermen´s nets. Pull up to one of the many islands jutting from the clean mountain water for a picnic or short hike.
Along with access to the Gorilla Trekking in Parc de Volcans Rwanda, Djomba/Virunga National Park in Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mgahinga National Park in Uganda, this lodge can serve as a base for your hiking and climbing activities in the area. Or just come and enjoy the scenery.
